Welcome to Strut. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Strut mobile application and related services ("App" or "Service") provided by an individual developer based in the United States ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, creating an account, or otherwise using Strut, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Strut is a fitness and habit-building application for iOS. It helps you build a daily walking habit by letting you block selected apps on your device until you reach your daily step goal, and by tracking streaks and competing with friends. The App uses Apple HealthKit to read your step data, and Apple Family Controls (Screen Time API) both to manage the app restrictions you choose and to show you your own screen time usage. Screen Time information is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
Strut also offers optional social features — accounts, friends, leaderboards, challenges, and notifications. To provide these, we create an account for you and store certain data on our cloud infrastructure, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Strut. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
Strut's social and sync features require an account, which you create using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information (such as a display name and username) and not to impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone. You may delete your account at any time from Profile > Settings > Delete Account.
Strut offers optional subscription plans (monthly and yearly) and a one-time lifetime purchase that unlock premium features. All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Price changes take effect at your next billing cycle, and Apple will notify you in advance where required.
Strut lets you create content that other users can see, such as your display name, username, and challenge titles ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your User Content, and you grant us a limited license to host and display it as needed to operate the Service.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to create, share, or transmit content that is:
We use automated filtering to block offensive text and may remove content or restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You can manage your social connections by removing friends within the App. To report abusive content or a user, or to request removal of content, contact us at hello@getstrut.app; we aim to review reports and act on violations (including removing content and ejecting offending users) within 24 hours.
Strut is a motivational and habit-building tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Step data is sourced from Apple HealthKit and depends on your device's sensors.
Strut lets you voluntarily select which apps are blocked until your daily step goal is met. You are fully in control of which apps are restricted and what your step target is.

All content, design, code, graphics, and trademarks associated with Strut (other than your User Content) are our property and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including loss of data, missed communications due to app blocking, inaccurate step data, or interruption of service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or USD $50.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
You may stop using Strut at any time by deleting your account and removing the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you under these Terms immediately cease. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it through the App Store to avoid continued billing.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the App where appropriate. Your continued use of Strut after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [YOUR STATE], except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent the App is downloaded from the Apple App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. The App must be used in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
